About Truth Idaho

Truth belongs to the people.

Truth Idaho exists to expose wrongdoing, hidden influence, corruption, unfair practices, conflicts of interest, and abuses of public trust — and to give Idahoans a clearer view of what is happening inside the institutions that govern them.

Why We Exist

Public power should never operate in the shadows.

Government decisions affect families, businesses, property, schools, taxes, communities, and individual liberty. The people making those decisions should expect scrutiny.

Truth Idaho looks beyond the press release and the prepared talking point. We examine influence, money, relationships, conflicts, process, conduct, and the decisions being made when ordinary Idahoans are not in the room.

No party gets an exemption. When credible concerns involve Republicans, Democrats, agencies, local government, political organizations, contractors, donors, or other powerful interests, the standard remains the same: investigate it honestly.

Mark Fitzpatrick
Meet Mark Fitzpatrick

Businessman. Former cop. Professional question-asker.

Mark Fitzpatrick's background spans law enforcement, entrepreneurship, real estate, land development, hospitality, business ownership, and politics.

Those worlds look different from the outside. They have one thing in common: people make decisions, money moves, incentives matter, and what happens behind closed doors can matter just as much as what gets said publicly.

Truth Idaho is where Mark brings those experiences together: asking uncomfortable questions, challenging powerful people and institutions, and pursuing information Idahoans deserve to see.

Before Truth Idaho

Mark has never fit neatly into one box.

01 / LAW ENFORCEMENT

He started in law enforcement.

Before business and politics, Mark served as a police officer. The work put him close to real consequences, difficult decisions, conflicting stories, and the importance of finding out what actually happened before reaching conclusions.

02 / ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Then came business.

Mark went on to build and operate businesses across real estate, development, marketing, hospitality, and other ventures. Entrepreneurship meant making decisions with his own money, living with the results, solving problems, and learning quickly when an idea did not survive contact with reality.

03 / REAL ESTATE + DEVELOPMENT

Land, property, and growth became part of the story.

As a licensed real-estate broker and land developer, Mark has worked inside industries shaped by regulation, local government, property rights, growth, permitting, finance, and the decisions public bodies make every day.

04 / FAMILY + COMMUNITY

None of it happens in a vacuum.

Mark is a husband and father of six. For him, questions about government, culture, education, property, opportunity, and public integrity are not abstract political exercises. They shape the state his family and other Idaho families will inherit.

68,711 Votes Statewide 28.8% of the 2026 Idaho Republican gubernatorial primary vote.
And Then He Ran For Governor

He challenged the sitting governor.

In 2026, Mark Fitzpatrick challenged incumbent Idaho Governor Brad Little in the Republican primary.

He did not win the nomination. But the final statewide canvass recorded 68,711 votes for Fitzpatrick — approximately 28.8% of the Republican gubernatorial primary vote.

Government accountability was not a side issue in that campaign. Fitzpatrick's published platform made “End Government Waste & Corruption” its first priority and called for stronger ethics enforcement, restrictions on lobbyist gifts, greater public-records access, more open government meetings, and clearer public visibility into state spending.

Running for office ended. The questions didn't.

From Campaign To Investigation

Truth Idaho continues a different kind of fight.

A campaign asks voters to put one person in office. Truth Idaho has a different job: scrutinize whoever already has power.

The project is not an extension of a campaign and it is not a vehicle for protecting one political side. Its purpose is to investigate credible questions involving public power and give Idahoans the information needed to reach their own conclusions.

01 Ask who benefits from a decision.
02 Examine who influenced it and how.
03 Look for conflicts, favoritism, and hidden incentives.
04 Publish what can be substantiated — even when it is inconvenient.
What Truth Idaho Investigates

Follow power. Find out what's really happening.

01 / CORRUPTION

Corruption & abuse of power.

Credible allegations of self-dealing, improper influence, conflicts of interest, misuse of authority, ethical failures, and conduct that may violate the public trust.

02 / INFLUENCE

Money & hidden influence.

Donors, lobbying, contracts, political organizations, personal relationships, financial incentives, and other forces surrounding government and political decisions.

03 / FAIRNESS

Favoritism & unfair practices.

Selective enforcement, insider access, unequal treatment, questionable processes, and decisions where ordinary citizens may not be playing by the same rules as powerful interests.

Our Standard

Bold does not mean careless.

Truth Idaho is willing to ask hard questions and investigate powerful people. That makes accuracy more important, not less.

Tips are leads, not conclusions. We look for documents, public information, firsthand responses, financial connections, timelines, and corroborating evidence.

When facts are established, we say so. When a claim remains disputed, we say that too. And when the evidence does not support an accusation, the accusation does not become the story simply because it would make a better headline.
